SLUGGISH NSE ADVERSELY AFFECTS PERFORMANCE OF BRITISH- AMERICAN

Nairobi March 22, 2011: The poor performance of quoted stocks at the Nairobi securities Exchange has adversely affected British-American Investment Company (Kenya) Limited results.

In a statement to the media, the British-American Group managing director, Mr. Benson Wairegi said: “Our stock market was hard hit by the deteriorating conditions in the global financial markets, high inflation and interest rates as well as volatility of the Kenya Shilling against, hard currencies in 2011. This as a result, adversely affected our profits for 2011”.
