Outpatient Fund Management

The outpatient scheme will operate under a Managed Fund, an arrangement between British-American Insurance and Client, (hereinafter referred to as Client). Client will decide on the scope of cover for the fund. British-American will be available for Guidance and advice on benefits, service providers, exclusions and limits.

• The scheme covers all routine outpatient services which include consultations, investigations, prescribed drugs, physiotherapy, and immunization, dental and optical services.

• Each family is covered up to the set outpatient limit per year.

• Members access panel hospitals and clinics for treatment on credit using membership cards. British-American pays medical bills directly to the medical service providers from the fund and prepares monthly statements to Client to show usage and respective balances.

• BRITAK will come up with an estimate working budget. However, to effect cover we only require an initial deposit of a third of the annual budget for us to start administering the outpatient benefits. This deposit is usually replenished at 75% utilization or as may be required from time to time.

• At the end of the insurance period, the unutilized funds may be carried forward to the next period or refunded to Client.
